Crime Reduction Initiatives (CRI)

Almost 12 months after opening its doors in Craven Park, 125 Brent residents have benefited from the range of structured drug treatment programmes provided from CRI’s new service base with a further 350 people based either in the community or living on the streets making contact with the service.
CRI is a national provider of specialist support, treatment and rehabilitation services that are designed to facilitate change in individuals and communities affected by crime, substance misuse and anti social behaviour. They particularly seek to engage with those who don’t typically use treatment services such as women, substance misusers with parental responsibilities and black and minority ethnic communities.
Dawn Butler, MP for Brent South, will officially open CRI’s new service base on Tuesday 18th December 2007. She said “It is essential that we continue to support and promote services like this for those less fortunate than ourselves. Giving members of our community who have lost their way a chance to rebuild their lives is our social responsibility”.
This launch is open for all interested people working with similar issues within the public and private sector who deal with similar issues. The focus of this event will be to highlight CRI’s work with the aim of encouraging stronger partnerships and publicity of this service within the community benefiting more and more residents.
Working in collaboration with other agencies is a fundamental part to the users’ success. Mark Moody, CRI’s London Regional Direct concurred ‘Our services make an important contribution to tackling some of the key issues that affect the quality of life for local people – and we look forward to working closely in partnership with other service providers to improve the quality of life and opportunities for local communities.’
