Annual NHS National Staff Opinion Survey - October 2008
Every Trust and PCT in England will shortly be participating in the Annual Healthcare Commission NHS National Staff Survey. As in previous years, staff will be contacted and asked to fill in a questionnaire during October and November. The survey asks staff to give their views about working for NHS Brent. The results will be available in March 2009, and the findings will help NHS Brent make further improvements during 2009. This year the survey will also include questions about four themes:The resources to deliver quality care for patients The support I need to do a good job A worthwhile job with the chance to develop The opportunity to improve the way we work
Managers are encouraged to support their staff to complete their survey in work time and make every effort to ensure the widest possible response. The information given by staff is dealt with in confidence – the results will be reported in such a way that it will not be possible for any individual to be identified.
The survey is being carried out for the Healthcare Commission by an organisation called Quality Health.
Why is it so important?
Not only will it allow us to measure the areas you like about working within NHS Brent it will also help us build on things you do not find so good. All of this drives the need to be an excellent organisation which provides quality services to all of our patients.
