As the biggest provider of local health services, we are committed to reducing health inequalities. This is why we have prepared a draft Single Equality Scheme that explains what we will do to ensure we are working to meet the high standards expected of us when it comes to providing equal access to health services.
Our draft document states how we will do this for six key equality strands that, by law, we must meet. The strands are age, disability, gender (including transgender), race, religion and faith, and sexual orientation.
You can comment on the draft Single Equality Scheme by coming to our first Equalities, Diversity and Human Rights and Healthcare Conference on 25 March 2009. If you can't make the conference then click the link to to see a copy of the Draft Single Equality Scheme
We want to hear your views on our draft document so please send your comments or suggestions to nolan.victory@brentpct.nhs.uk
