Update on Human swine flu
29 April 2009

More cases of human swine flu are being confirmed and checked, including in the UK

The UK government and the Health Protection Agency are monitoring the situation and you can see the latest advice at the HPA’s website . Advice for travellers to affected areas who have flu-like symptoms is to contact your GP or NHS direct – 0845 4647 – and limit contact with others. Swine flu symptoms are similar to those of regular human seasonal influenza infection and include fever, fatigue, lack of appetite, coughing and sore throat. Some people with swine flu have also reported vomiting and diarrhoea. For most people this illness appears to be mild.

The World Health Organisation is coordinating the global response.
