Consultation on the relocation of the Urgent Dental Care Service from Charing Cross Hospital Monday 26 July 2010 - Friday 20 August 2010
Introduction: The proposal is to relocate the Urgent Dental Care Service from Charing Cross Hospital to Parsons Green Medical Centre and we would like your views on this proposal.
We are not proposing a change in the range of treatments being provided, the dental staff or the funding of the service. Both the dental suite at Charing Cross Hospital and the dental suite at Parsons Green are wheelchair accessible.
Reason for the Relocation: The relocation will enable:
• This service to be provided in a community setting. (The Parsons Green Medical Centre is in the community) • The dental suite at Parsons Green to be used more efficiently (The dental suite at the Parsons Green Medical Centre is not currently used out of hours) • New infection control standards to be met without additional expenditure. (The dental suite at the Parsons Green Medical Centre will meet these standards)
Timescale: The consultation period will be one month from Monday 26th July 2010 to Friday 20th August 2010.
Current Arrangements: During the evening, at weekends and on Bank Holidays Urgent Dental Care is provided by some high street dentists as well as by the Out of Hours Urgent Care Dental Service in Charing Cross Hospital.
Out of Hours patients living in Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kensington & Chelsea or Westminster who need urgent treatment may be referred to the Out of Hours Urgent Care Dental Service located in Charing Cross Hospital which is open at the following times:
Monday – Friday 7:00pm – 10:00pm (including Bank Holidays) Saturday, 10:00am – 4:30pm Sunday 10:00am – 12:30pm
