Major Incident Plan

The Major Incident Plan outlines the preparation of a co-ordinated response within Brent Teaching Primary Care Trust to any major incident and will:-

·      Prepare the organisation to provide a co-ordinated response to any major incident

·      Provide clear guidance for departments and disciplines within the Trust as a major incident takes precedence over all other tPCT business

·       Ensure compliance with our statutory obligations under the Civil Contingency Act (2004) that requires all NHS organisations to be prepared and to have a Major Incident Plan in place.

The Major Incident Plan must be used in conjunction with the Business Continuity Plan (approved by the Board in March 2008)

Heatwave Plan 2008

Extreme heat is dangerous to everyone. During a heatwave, when temperatures remain abnormally high over more than a couple of days, it can prove fatal, particularly among certain at-risk groups. In one hot spell in London in August 2003, deaths among people aged over 75 rose by 60 per cent.

Most of us enjoy sunny weather, but extremeheat can seriously damage your health. During aheatwave, when temperatures stay really highday after day, it can sometimes be fatal.
