Improving and developing primary and community services over the next five years
Most people have contact with the NHS through their GP, pharmacy or other primary and community services. Primary and community services play an important role in:
- identifying disease early,
- providing advice and support to maintain health,
- treating and supporting people with long-standing illnesses.
This is why making sure that everyone in Brent has access to high quality primary and community care is an important NHS Brent priority.
For the past eight months, NHS Brent has been working on developing a strategy for primary and community care. To do this we have talked to many people, including members of the public, clinicians, patients, voluntary organisations and others. We are grateful to all those who have been involved. Over 80 local people also came to Bridge Park Leisure Centre to debate the state of Brent’s health care and improvements we were proposing. A report of this lively day’s discussion can be found at the bottom of the page.
We have put our proposals for improving and developing primary and community services into a discussion document. You can download the document from this site or you can get a paper copy by contacting Pam White on 020 8795 6794 or at PCCS, Wembley Centre for Health & Care (address as below).
Over the next 6 weeks we want to hear the views of as many people as possible about the proposals in the document. You can give us your views by:-
| · |
emailing us at pccs@brentpct.nhs.uk |
| · |
writing to us at Primary & Community Services Strategy, Wembley Centre for Health & Care, Chaplin Rd, Wembley, Mdsex HA0 4UZ, |
| · |
coming to a public meeting at Bridge Park Leisure Centre at 6.30pm, on May 20th. |
We will also be organising 2 healthfair events to talk about our proposals. Please watch this site for details.
Please give us your views about the discussion document by May 29th. After this we will present the outcomes of our discussions to the NHS Brent Board for consideration and agree the next stages of the work. We do hope you will comment.
