CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR A 24/7 URGENT CARE CENTRE (INCLUSIVE OF OUT OF HOURS PRIMARY CARE) AT CENTRAL MIDDLESEX HOSPITAL, PARK ROYAL LONDON
NHS Brent invites Expressions of Interest from all suitably experienced healthcare providers (including general practitioners, social enterprise / third sector organisations and other providers) to provide a 24 hour, 365 days a year, Urgent Care Centre (UCC) operating within the Central Middlesex Hospital; including primary care Out of Hours services. NHS Brent is staging a competitive ITT process to secure a provider to deliver services from December 2010.
The UCC service will be configured, staffed and equipped for both minor ailments and minor injuries and resourced to treat approximately 50,000 patients per year. The service must work closely with the existing A&E service to provide a seamless patient experience; identifying quickly those patients who require emergency acute care, urgent primary care and general primary care.
The Out of Hours element of the service will be available to patients of all Brent GP practices which have contracted out of their responsibility for providing out of hours care, which amounts to about 150,000 patients; operating weekdays overnight, weekends and bank holidays.
Those wishing to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) in tendering for the contract should send an email in the prescribed format to UCCTender@brentpct.nhs.uk, to arrive on or before Thursday 29 April 1700.
