Infection Control Service

The aim of the Infection Control Service is to promote a safe environment for patients, visitor and staff where infection risks are kept to a minimum.

The Brent tPCT Infection Control Service consists of the following components:

  • Evidence based policy development and review
  • Infection Control education and training for all clinical and support staff
  • Audit and risk assessment
  • Involvement in clinical service development
  • Targeted Infection Surveillance
  • Prevention, control and management of outbreaks of infection / communicable disease
  • Provision of patient care advice

The tPCT Infection Control Team work closely with both the North West London Health Protection Unit as well as the North West London Hospitals Trust Infection Control and Microbiology Departments.
